Racine Lutheran Trap Team Receives Funding
Racine Lutheran High School’s trap team has received two financial awards. Trap shooting is a competitive sport in which team members use shotguns to fire at clay targets—called clay pigeons—released into the air on command. Teams are graded on their accuracy in hitting the moving targets from various positions. The Racine County Line Rifle Club has generously granted the team use of its facility and has donated $1,000 for equipment. In addition, Friends of NRA (National Rifle Association) has provided $4,000 in funding for the team. The money will help pay for ammunition and supplies.
RLHS Cheerleaders Receive Awards
The Racine Lutheran High cheerleading squad recently participated in UCA Cheer Camp at UW-Milwaukee. The squad received one red ribbon, ten blue ribbons, two 2nd place trophies, and one gold superior overall ribbon. Coaches are Lynn Miehle and ShaiAnn Howard. Principal Randy Baganz notes, “These are well-deserved rewards for hard work. Congratulations to our cheerleaders, who invest extra effort during the summer months to train for the coming sports season. Special thanks to our coaches for always encouraging students to excel and grow in Christian sportsmanship.”
Racine Lutheran - Where You Belong
School Starts August 17
We‟re busy admitting students before the start of our fall semester. Our full-time Admissions Counselor, Susie Drummond, is available to assist parents and children making decisions about enrollment, class selection, and activities.
Racine Lutheran – Making Plans
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. . .” is a great verse in Jeremiah 29. Our seniors and their families are wrapping up a successful year and making plans for the next phase in life. We pray that each student will follow God’s leading.
On Being Athletes and Scholars
Can students be good athletes AND good scholars? Do they have to sacrifice one set of gifts to nurture the other? Parents, teachers, and coaches often talk about the need for students to be balanced and well-rounded. We don‟t want to turn out good athletes who are not prepared for higher education. Neither do we want to have academic achievers who never have a chance to build strong bodies or get any exercise.
