Like Conor McGregor, Brett Favre, Michael Jordan, and “Saved by the Bell – The College Years,” Mr. Bruening has come out of retirement to lead us in chapel. And thank you to Mr. Gullicksrud for his assistance. Here’s the link:

Coach Christensen retires!
RLHS Basketball Coach Jeff Christensen retires
Racine Lutheran High School (RLHS) announces the retirement of boys basketball head coach Jeff Christensen. A member of the RLHS Class of 1972, Christensen joined the staff as an assistant coach in 1981 and became head coach in 1988. Throughout his 33-year career, he amassed a 525-266 record, which ranks him 19th in wins in Wisconsin high school history. During that time, his teams won 11 conference championships, 13 regional championships, had 9 state appearances, and won the state championship in 1991, 1995, 1996, and 1998. He won the Racine County Coach of the Year award 7 times, and he was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2018.
Christensen also served Racine Lutheran High School in a variety of roles, including being on the Board of Directors, head softball coach, head golf coach, assistant football coach, physical education teacher, study hall supervisor, and summer maintenance. He has been involved in various fundraising activities for the school, most notably the Ron Naegeli Memorial Golf Outing and the Grand Gala.
Christensen stated: “Special thanks to all players, coaches, statisticians, announcers, athletic directors, and administrators who supported the Racine Lutheran High School boys’ basketball program over the past 33 years. You helped make basketball fun for the parents, alumni, and friends of our school. Thank you. My family and I really enjoyed being a part of the RLHS family and will always cherish our time together. May God continue to bless RLHS as it moves forward in its ministry of spreading God’s Word to our youth. I hope to see many of you in the years ahead. Thanks again for the memories.”
Also announcing the end of their coaching tenures are longtime assistants Eric Wilks (25 years), Kevin Christensen (15 years), and Tim Demuth (8 years). The RLHS community gives thanks to God for the talents that all these men have shared and the impact that they have had on our students.
“RLHS has been truly blessed to have Jeff and his coaching staff leading our program for so many years,” said Jason Block, RLHS athletic director. “Besides being a great coach, Jeff has been a faithful servant to Racine Lutheran in many different capacities. He and his staff will be greatly missed.”
