The Week of September 30th

The Weekly News contains both NEW! entries for this week, as well as other important information that has been provided before, but still relevant.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE
NEW!
On Friday, our students and staff had the privilege of honoring World War II veteran SSgt. Ralph Bode as his funeral procession passed by our school. Our student body did a great job shining their light to the community and honoring this war hero and his family. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”–John 15:13
NEW!
Homecoming Week is October 7-12
The student council, under the direction of Ms. Lucas and Ms. Pedrosa, have planned many different activities throughout the week. Please encourage your student to listen to and read announcements so they don’t miss out!

REMINDER: ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE FOR PARENTS:
  • A. When a student is absent or late to school, a parent must report the absence/tardy by either calling the school office (262-637-6538), reporting it on the JMC App or emailing us at office@racinelutheran.org before 8:00 A.M. Messages can be left on the school answering machine if the office is closed. Students are responsible for contacting their teachers for materials and assignments they have missed.

  • C. If a student will be out of school for a day or more, they need to pick up a PRE-PLANNED ABSENCE FORM from the office. This form must be signed by the parents, all of the student’s teachers, and turned in to the office the day before the planned absence.
  • D. Students must be in attendance to participate in or attend after school activities. (athletics, music, drama, clubs, dances, events)

RLHS VOLUNTEER/FAMILY SERVICE HOURS
RLHS Volunteer/Family Service Hours
Every family is expected to volunteer at least 20 hours of service each school year (July 1-June 30) to directly benefit RLHS. PLEASE NOTE- RLHS student responsibilities, commitments, and expectations that are part of a sport or club (NHS, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, team events) do not count toward the 20 RLHS service hours.

The Thrift Shop is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and is looking for help during morning shifts (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and afternoon shifts (1 p.m.- 4 p.m.). Students, parents, grandparents, and friends of RLHS are needed to sort, clean, price and display merchandise and work in the store. One adult and one student, or two adults, are needed for each shift. SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS ARE ESPECIALLY NEEDED!
