RLHS Alumni Basketball Tournament showcased former players

Nearly four dozen Racine Lutheran High School graduates dusted off their basketball shoes, stretched their aging muscles, and played in the school’s annual Alumni Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 26.  It was a huge success and a wonderful experience.

The blast from the past was enhanced when RLHS Coach Jeff Christensen presented the weekend warriors with vintage Crusader jerseys. Multiple teams of athletes, whose graduation dates spanned more than 30 years, took to the court, enjoyed friendly competition and reminisced about their high school days. The bleachers were filled with phenomenal fans dressed in purple and gold.

Players and their families and friends gathered at Bucket’s Pub for a reception following the games.

We applaud and thank MeriKatherine Bock ’13 who sang an astounding a cappella rendition of the National Anthem. Thank you to all the men and women who participated or came to spectate. It was a great day for old friends to reconnect and play competitive – but fun – basketball.

Additional photos are posted on the Racine Lutheran Alumni Facebook page.

Next year’s Alumni Tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25. Save the date!
